Cross sectional view of the Adult Robert’s Modification with high reinforcing Subortholen Material into a Deepened Heel Cup

The Adult Robert’s Modification is a technique to provide enhanced rearfoot control for cases with severe foot pronation. This modification has the internal subortholen shell modified into a markedly deepened heel cup.

A common type of hyperpronation condition requiring this modification for adult patients is due to tibialis posterior tendon pathology while, in the adolescent, Kidner’s foot deformity will induce significant pronation necessitating the use of this reinforced deep heel cup.
