Orthosis Length

Full Length vs Sulcus Length CMO Length

The length of the orthosis may be predicated by patient preference, shoe style or the type of problem encountered. When a roomier athletic style or lace-up shoe is worn, we recommend a full-length device for enhanced forefoot balance, comfort and prevention of orthotic slippage.

When other types and styles of shoes are commonly worn, a sulcus-length device will be less shoe specific with respect to ball-width and shoe-last shape. When dress style  shoes are usually worn, we recommend the sulcus length to help reduce bulk in the toe-box area of the shoe.
